The Tombouctou Manuscripts Project will be hosting a series of lunch time conversations entitled "Calligraphic Africa: on the means and ends of writing". The aim of the series is to generate discussion around different aspects of writing culture on the continent, from calligraphy and conservation to today's paper industry.
The series will be held throughout April and May and consists of experts in various fields of writing culture and book history - from paper makers to preservation experts and calligraphers. Download the programme for more details.
